Food for Hope delivers children from hunger in Adams County, Colorado.

Research indicates that even mild malnutrition experienced by young children during critical periods of growth impacts their behavior, school performance, and overall cognitive development. There are thousands of children in Adams County alone that are not receiving enough to eat.

Our mission is to empower and strengthen the future of our communities by providing nutritious food to children in need. Each student enrolled with our program receives nutritional assistance throughout the school year.

Food For Hope Food Bank in Adams County

Food Banks

These food banks provide fresh and shelf stable food to kids that attend school in the district or school where they are located. Food for Hope works with each location to identify families who need food resources and enable them to shop for what they need. Food banks are currently located in Adams 12, 27J, Adams 14, and at Pinnacle Charter School.

Weekend Nutrition

Every week, volunteers meet to put together a bag full of nutritious food for each child enrolled in our elementary school program. Bags include a vegetable (canned or fresh), a fruit (canned or fresh), whole grains, protein items, and 2 breakfasts/snacks. Volunteers deliver bags to participating schools on Thursday of each week, to be distributed before they leave for the weekend.

School Fuel Snacks

Students need snacks at school to maintain focus, keep their energy up, and find success in their classes. Many teachers have reported to us that they use personal finances to purchase extra snacks for their students who are not able to bring one from home. We created this program to provide school day snacks and alleviate the financial burden from teachers who are providing this on their own.
