Impact
Our mission is to empower and strengthen the future of our communities by providing nutritious food to children in need.
During the 2022-23 school year, Food for Hope distributed 10,139 bags of food to children and their families to fill the weekend hunger gap.
In the last year, 635 volunteers gave 3,130 hours of their time to help us achieve our mission.
Food for Hope is now operating seven in-school / district site food banks at:
Adams 14 - Hope Center
27J - Brighton Family Resource Center
Pinnacle Charter School
Shadow Ridge Middle School
McElwain Elementary School
STEM Launch
Northglenn High School
In the 2022-23 school year, 76,000 pounds of food was distributed through food banks to an average of 1,496 individuals each month. These locations provide fresh and shelf stable groceries for students and their families who attend school in these communities and need nutritional support.
During the 2022-23 school year, the School Fuel Snack program provided 100,047 high protein snacks to students at 11 different schools. These snacks are distributed to students who are underfed and/or come to school hungry.
Each year, our Feed 5000 Thanksgiving food distribution provides a full Thanksgiving meal to 2,200 families in Adams County. Over 300 volunteers come together each year to help distribute boxes and turkeys.
Food for Hope partners with the Student & Family Outreach team at the Adams 12 Five Star School district to curate boxes of culturally sensitive food items (both fresh and shelf stable) for recently relocated refugee families. In the last year, we have distributed 600 boxes through this partnership.
Community Food Drives have provided a whole pantry full of nonperishable food items, but we always need more! Check out our Donate page for a full food list.
We are creating unity through engaging community businesses, organizations, and individuals as we address this issue together.
