Food for Hope delivers children from hunger in Adams County, Colorado.
Research indicates that even mild malnutrition experienced by young children during critical periods of growth impacts their behavior, school performance, and overall cognitive development. There are thousands of children in Adams County alone that are not receiving enough to eat.
Our mission is to empower and nourish the future of the community by providing vital nutrition to children in need. Each student enrolled with our program receives nutritional assistance throughout the school year.
The Colorado Department of Education reported that in the 2018-2019 school year, 81,680 students in Adams County relied on the Free/Reduced meal program to receive the food they need to grow and thrive. However, there are hunger gaps that exist on the weekends, in the summer, or even during other parts of the school day when children are not receiving assistance. The vision of Food for Hope is to provide wholesome food to kids in food insecure situations, so that they are empowered to succeed.
