One thing for certain this summer is that our neighbors still need us to remember them. Due to the high cost of living, many families remain right on the edge of being able to pay their bills and ensure that their children have the food they need each day. SNAP cuts and lack of school structure mean that many parents are doing everything they can to ensure their children are fed. Just the other day, I was told that residents in a local apartment complex are waiting in a large crowd for each week's fresh food box distribution. The need is real.
During the summer months, Food for Hope is distributing food through the channels available to us. We are also strengthening our systems for the school year to come. Last week, Food for Hope purchased a refrigerated truck so that we can transport more fresh food at all of our sites! We will also be having a staff retreat to connect, re-group, and discuss how we can better serve the Adams County school districts moving forward. Food for Hope is also a part of many fun summer events! All of the details are below, and we hope to see you out and about around the community.
Finally, be sure to check out June's blog post. Our Director of Development, Darcie Castigliano-Ball, shares about our Corporate sponsorship program and how those relationships are vital to our organization. Thank you for your ongoing support. We need community partners to move our mission forward. Your engagement makes a difference!
Warmly,
Emily Stromquist, Executive Director

What is Food for Hope up to This Summer?
Volunteers helping at the Craft Table at the Summer Solstice Orchard Town Center event.
Summer may be a slower season for schools, but Food for Hope has been busier than ever! Our team and volunteers have been out in the community attending fun events, hosting fundraisers, and building new connections to support local families. We have also been able to keep two of our In-School Food Pantries open throughout June to ensure students and families continue to have access to nutritious food when school is out. In addition, we are proud to partner with Adams 12 Five Star Schools on their Summer Food Box Outreach Program, helping provide food assistance to families across the district.
From packing food and supporting outreach efforts to representing Food for Hope at community events, our incredible volunteers have been making a difference every step of the way. Thank You All!

Starting and ending at Satire Brewing in Thornton, right next to the Food for Hope office, this year's Oktoberfest-themed celebration is shaping up to be our best yet. Enjoy a scenic ride, connect with local businesses, enter exciting giveaways, and relax with cold drinks and delicious food. Stick around after the ride for live 90's alternative music from The Crossfades, a local Denver favorite.
Our goal is to help feed more than 3,000 food-insecure students in Adams County schools by raising $15,000. You can support this effort by signing up for the ride, making a donation, sharing our event page to others, or simply stopping by to enjoy the festivities. We are already working to stock the shelves for our In-School Food Pantries so they are ready to serve students and families when schools reopen this fall, while also supporting the pantries that remain open during the summer.
Consider hosting a fun summer-themed food drive with your business, organization, neighborhood, or community group. Your support helps ensure our shelves are filled and ready for the thousands of students and families who rely on these resources. We can provide collection bins, promotional flyers, and creative ideas to make your food drive simple and successful!
